Your Big Day! Happy Birthday Cormic!

Thursday 10/27/11

Dear Cormic,

This was a very big day for you.  For the last 39 weeks you were nestled and comfy in my belly and today was your day to enter in the big world.  I was scheduled for a c-section since I had some complications with the birth of your big sis Anna.  So, Daddy and I checked in the hospital at 11am and you were born at 1:41 pm.  You weighed in at 9lb 4oz and 19 3/4 in length.  Soon after your birth and after they cleaned you up and did some tests you were in our arms.  Holding you and meeting you after waiting for so long is a feeling that cannot be described......simply put is amazing.  Soon after your birth I was rolled back to the recovery room with Daddy by my side and the first person waiting to meet you in the recovery room was your Nana.  We wanted to have her with us during your birth, but since it was a scheduled surgery the docs felt it was better for it to be just your daddy and I. So, she was waiting for us to come back so she could meet you right away.  Your Nana and I are very close and do alot of special things together, so it meant the world to me to have here there waiting.  Within two hours of your birth many had already come to visit.  Your Wawa came and guess who she brought with her......your big sis Anna.  While we were in recovery room your visitors were Nana, big sis Anna, Wawa, Kevin, Grandpa and Nana Sue.  After spending a little time in the recovery room we were then sent to our regular room.

Now that we are in our regular room and getting settled your visitors continued.  You are very popular and loved and everyone could not wait to meet you.  Your Daddy, big sis Anna, Wawa, and Nana stayed with us for awhile.  Other visitors that came to the hospital that first night were your Papa, Grandma Debbie, Uncle Chad, Aunt Sandy and your cousin Payton.

A new chapter of our lives

Dear Cormic,

It was just 7 1/2 months ago (March 2011) when your Daddy and I found out we were pregnant and just 4 1/2 months ago (June 2011) when we found out you were a little boy.  It was so exciting to find out we were having a son.  It made your daddy and I very happy and excited but can't even tell you how excited your big sis Anna was.  All she talked about was having a little brother.  What a perfect addition to our happy family.  I very much enjoyed being pregnant with you.  I count my blessings that I was given the beautiful gift to carry a beautiful child.  The  attachment and bond that is created is the most amazing feeling ever. I also loved feeling your movement everyday. You were a very active boy inside my belly and I loved every moment of it.....although it wasn't always comfortable.  Although I loved being pregnant I could not wait to meet you and hold you in my arms.

10/26/11
It is the night before my scheduled c-section and I'm getting ready for bed and I know it's the last evening with you inside my belly and that in just less than a day you will enter this world.  Your daddy, your big sis and I had fun hanging out and taking pics of my belly and family pics.  Good night Cormic. I love you and look forward to holding you tomorrow.

Love,
Mommy

Zoo Baby.

Today was your first visit to the zoo.  Perfect family day.
We had a great day.  Gorgeous weather, we had the place to ourselves.

Last nite you had your eyes open for awhile!  You watched the Steelers v. Ravens game with me.  I taught you your first lesson in football: The Steelers are to be strongly disliked.  Remember always and you will be a success in life.

Love you,

Daddy

Saturday Morning...

You are sleeping with your head on my shoulder as I write.  Just wanted to give a quick hello!  I am off work for a few more days and we are still getting a good stream of visitors (and lunches and dinners) to see you!  Your uncle Patrick is coming down to see you today with Jami and the boys (they met you the night you came home- after Grandpa and Nana's Halloween party).

Anna just took you from me...I will take a pic.

 Love you,

Daddy

My new boy.

Cormic,
Not even sure what to say here.  I have found my voice speaking to your big sister, Anna, but speaking to you- my new son- seems so amazing and new.  My baby boy.  You were born just days ago (5!!) and you are a big boy (born- 9.4 lbs!).

There has been a lot going on since you have been born, including Halloween!  You were our new little pumpkin.  I am going to leave it short and sweet.  Just wanted to say that you have made our little family complete.  Mommy, Anna, the boys, and I love you so very much!

Love you always,
Daddy
